Early Work
Having finished my architecture I entered the industry with plans to “change the world” but my eagerness and curiosity had me trying out various other creative fields. It was almost like I was in search of something that was still to come my way.
Pondicherry and ceramics was my answer. In 2009, I made my way to Golden Bridge Pottery, Pondicherry to study ceramics for 8 months. I went there not knowing what to expect. I had heard so much about Ray Meeker and Deborah Smith who run Golden Bridge and knew that that was the place to be if I wanted to learn ceramics.
Over the course of the 8 months my life was filled with crazy amounts of hard work but along with that – unsurmountable visite website joy. The emotions I felt the first time I ever fired a wood kiln cannot be put into words.
To see a lump of clay getting transformed into a work of art and to know that I was responsible for this transformation, completely changed my life and the way I look at it.
I cherish these pieces I made early on. It shows me how I have grown and but more importantly it gives me the courage to push ahead and challenge myself…. not only where clay is concerned but in life also.
