Why choose our pottery and ceramic workshops?

I have successfully been conducting ceramic and clay workshops for almost 12 years. More than a 100 students (some turned professionals) have been trained in the art of pottery. The workshops train you from basic to advanced levels of working with clay.  

We have monthly sessions, long term sesions and single or trial sessions for enthusiasts. My workshops are informal and full of fun.

  2. The Muddy Project at Khadki, Pune

Hand Building – Beginners Level

Workshops available at Studio Farishtey and The Muddy Project.

You will learn to understandand work with clay using hand built techniques like pinch, coil and slabs.

  • 8 classes a month, twice a week
  • Duration per class – 2 hours
  • Fees- 8500/- inclusive of all raw material
  • All pieces made during the workshops, will be bisque fired. One piece (about 6” ht) will be glaze fired
  • Note: A max. of 2 missed classes can be adjusted
Basic Wheel Throwing

Workshops available at Studio Farishtey and The Muddy Project.

You will learn the basics of wheel throwing which include centering, pulling the clay and making simple forms on the wheel

  • 8 classes a month, twice a week
  • Duration per class – 2 hours
  • Fees- 9500/- inclusive of all raw material
  • Firings are not part of the fees and any firings will be charged extra
  • Note: A max. of 2 missed classes can be adjusted
Intensive Wheel Throwing- 3 months

Workshops available @ The Muddy Project.

The course is designed to learn and perfect the basics of wheel work and achieving perfection in repetitive throwing.

  • Monday to Friday 10.30am to 5pm
  • Details
    • Centering the Clay on Wheel.
    • Making the Cylinder of same size.
    • Hump throwing the small pots.
    • Making the bowl.
    • Making the jars with lid.
    • Lemon set, Tea kettle.
    • Section throwing.
    • Recycling the old clay.
    • Learning bisque firing in gas kiln and understanding the theory of a glaze fire
  • Fees – 35,000/- per month inclusive of all raw material and one bisque fire
  • Note: Articles made during the first 2 months will be recycled. The next 1 months students will make final pieces for one single kiln load bisque fire.
Glazing Workshop

Workshops available at Studio Farishtey and The Muddy Project.

Here you get into the chemistry that’s involved behind your clay body and the glazes used. Experiment and learn to make your own glaze compositions.

  • 12 classes
  • Duration per class – 2 hours
  • Fees – 28,000/- inclusive of all raw material and test firings.
Introductory session

Session available at Studio Farishtey and The Muddy Project.

You will understandand the basics of the three handbuilt techniques (pinch, coil and slab pottery) and get to try your hands at the wheel.

  • Single session for 2 hours
  • Fees- 2000/- per person inclusive of all raw material (Since Jan 2022)
  • Three pieces made during the workshops can be taken back at the end of the session unfired. No firing is included.
